As a resident of Quail Hollow and owner of the website, PeaceforPalm.com, I know what it means to be ignored by County Officials! I/we have been fighting for our rights and quality of life for years! I hear complaints almost daily. Your voice matters to me!
I have been out talking to residents and there are issues everywhere in this county.
INFRASTRUCTURE! DRAINAGE AND STORMWATER!
Our residents are concerned about rapid growth and development that have greatly increased flooding.and damage to their properties.
These issues need to be addressed before doubling the size of Flagler County!
Moreover, resdients have seen their utility bills escalate with little relief on flooding.
TRAFFIC!! TRAFFIC!! TRAFFIC!!
Driving is a NIGHTMARE!
After a long day at work, the last thing you want to do is sit at light after light. The roads can't handle the amount of vehicles at high traffic times, lights are not timed, short turn lanes, roads needs expansion before growth. It will only get worse! The traffic on SR 100 at Seminole Woods Parkway backs up eastbound beyond the new light at BJ's and will be worse with a new Walmart! At Belle Terre South the traffic backs up beyond Zebulah's Trail and residents can't get out. Now they have approved many more stores on this corner. We just sit in our cars and watch the planes 25 feet over our heads! US 1 won't be able to handle the amount of vehicles they plan to bring with all the new homes.
ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION!
You can't just FILL IN Wetlands
There are entire ecosystems to consider when developing neighborhoods. Flooding, Endangered Species, Fragile Ecosystems are gone forever.
The Wetlands absorb the water naturally and recharge the aquifer that provides groundwater. When you build houses and shopping centers, the water drains out to the ocean.
We CARE about the FUTURE of Flagler County!
QUIET SKIES, BETTER LIVES!
NO TOUCH AND GOS!!
200-300 Planes a day and they are flying dangerously low! We have data at 25 feet! This is a violation of 14 CFR 91.13, Careless and Reckless!
The constant NOISE and LEAD FUEL have negative health impacts.
The Airport Director and Flagler County have dismissed our pleas and complaints.
